Xuwei New District, the pioneer zone of the National East-Middle-West Regional Cooperation Demonstration Zone approved by the State Council and one of the seven national petrochemical industry bases, is developed along coastal line of Jiangsu Province. As the major carrier for industrial cooperation for construction of pivot points under the “Belt and Road” Initiative, it has been approved and included in the National Smart Chemical Park and National Green Chemical Park in succession. Covering a total planning area of about 467 square kilometers, it aims mainly at petrochemical, new materials and high-end equipment manufacturing, as well as port logistics and trade processing industries. Lianyungang Petrochemical Industrial Base has a total planning area of 61.34 square kilometers, with an overall industrial scale of 40 million tons of oil refining, 6 million tons of ethylene and 7 million tons of aromatics.
